The race baiters like Benjamin Crump and Al Sharpton will say that the appeal of the Chauvin conviction is about “white privilege” and “systemic racism”, but those will be lies. The appeal will be about the stupidity of the radical left. Maxine Waters call for violence while the jury is out. The admission by an Alternate Juror that they were in fear for their lives and for the lives of others in the city. Now the admission that one of the Jurors was a supporter if not a member of a BLM chapter and had a strong bias. Information that somehow he got past the defense team. I am not arguing the guilt or innocence of Chauvin, but rather the Constitutional guarantee of a fair and unbiased jury of our peers, allowing for a fair trial.

Sixth Amendment

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

History is replete with unjust jury decisions due to outside influences or cultural bias or prosecutorial misconduct. For example Terry Williams, The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office intentionally withheld critical evidence in 1986 when it prosecuted 18-year-old Terry Williams and won a death sentence. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court sent the case back to the Pennsylvania courts, putting the prosecution’s wrongdoing on display. John Bunn was incarcerated at 17 for 27 years for a crime he did not commit. Those decisions were wrong and it is good that some of those decisions were over turned. It is unfortunate that justice did not prevail in every case. Why, you ask, because injustice for one of us is injustice for us all. Not the lefts version but the version that says that a corrupt system demands a clean up. A better understanding of civil duties and responsibilities. Stopping to think if it were me or someone I loved I would want the best possible people in those 12 seats. People able to hear evidence and to process the information. People capable of setting aside emotions and looking at the facts. People able to set aside any prejudice and make a fair and honest assessment of the evidence and render a decision, understanding that all of our liberty is attached to that decision. Sometimes juries will still get it wrong and that is why there are appeals. The prosecution will fail to disclose evidence that might exonerate the defendant, or the defense passes off a witness without proper due diligence.
In the case of Mr Chauvin it appears there was a lack of fairness and this will lead to an appeal as it should. This does not change the facts and the appellate trial will bring all that to light. I do not know where the trial could be held without the jury being in fear and even if they are sequestered I am not convinced with woke culture that someone would not leak who they are if they did not return the verdict that the left wants in this case.  Sadly, the issue is not the facts in the case or any evidence, but is the color of the skin of both the accused and the deceased. The very issue that MLK fought to stop is the very issue being championed by the likes of Benjamin Crump and Al Sharpton. They will tell you that this is all about race. That another white man is getting something not afforded to a black man. They will do this at the bidding of very powerful people that will not be seen or heard in public but who pull the strings.
Sadly Black Americans have forgotten the real reason MLK fought and was killed. He desired equality for all men. Not a changing of places but an equality that allowed red, brown, yellow, black and white to have the same educational opportunities and the same career opportunities based on a fair competition and the same rules applying evenly to all participants.
It is my prayer that this constant race baiting and assault on traditional family values, Father and Mother, no matter the nationality or skin pigmentation will end and that all will wake up to the declaration that is found in our Declaration of Independence.

Strong intact families are statistically a better place for kids to get the kind of start in life that leads to living out Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
