****(“Darin A. Long, Superintendent of the Christian Academy of Louisville School System said Friday in a statement that, “We have been made aware that a student assignment from one of our middle school bible elective classes has been posted on social media.”
“The assignment is part of a unit of study which discusses ‘What are humans and where is their identity.’ This particular assignment, in context, was how a person could discuss homosexuality with a friend from a biblical perspective with compassion and love,” said Long.
Christian Academy of Louisville is a Christian-based private school system that partners with families that desire a Christ-centered educational environment, Long said.
He said the school teaches all content with a biblical worldview which is defined in Statement of Faith and Theological documents which are provided at the time of student applications, during family interviews, and in school and parent partnership agreements.
‘We believe that God created the marriage covenant to be between one man and one woman (Gen. 1:27, Gen. 2:24). We believe that sex is a good gift of God, to be celebrated within the confines of the marriage covenant, agreeing that all other sexual expressions go against God’s design. (1 Cor. 6:18, Gal. 5:19),” Long said.
“We believe that all individuals are created in the image of God and therefore should be treated with compassion, respect, dignity, and love at all times even in disagreement,” said Long.)*****
“Today, our founder JP Davis shared a screen shot of an assignment at Christian Academy of Louisville that asked seventh grade students to write a letter to persuade a friend who is a homosexual.
The student should instead encourage “the goodness of God’s design for them.”
The screen shot went viral in support of the LGBTQ+ community and students and alumni from CAL who feel shamed by their school.
We stand with JP and repudiate Christian Academy of Louisville and their hateful rhetoric and indoctrination of anti-gay sentiments. We love and honor our LGBTQ+ community and view the assignment by CAL as antithetical to the responsible education and health of our youth.
“The statistics speak for themselves on suicide among LGBTQ+ people, and these are seventh-graders that are being subjected to hate and division, and it’s not necessary,” Davis said. “I know it’s a Christian school, but that’s not my Christianity. That’s not my values. And that’s not what Jesus, if they want to make that argument, represented. Jesus didn’t go around asking people to judge and tell other people how they’re wrong and shame.”
If you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community and needing support and allyship, we ask that you reach out to us admin@jpdavispartners.com and we will work to connect you.
We promise to remain vigilant in the fight against hate and intolerance of all kinds. We. See. You.
Further, there are many wonderful resources in the Louisville area. Here is a sampling of some of those organizations who are doing powerful work in support of the LGBTQ+ community.”)*********
24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
John 3
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
JP Davis like many who many who like to pretend to know God and His Son Jesus Christ, by their own actions prove they know neither. They say Jesus never judged. Yet in John 3 He says that the world was already judged by its actions and that they refused to accept the truth because of their lust for the darkness. Paul, who was the apostle to the gentiles chosen by God, clearly states what is shared in both the Old testament law and in the New testament regarding sexual sin and specifically male on male sodomy.
Matthew 7
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Jesus issues a warning for those that continue to practice “iniquity” or lawlessness. Homosexuality or sodomite relations are in God’s laws sin and lawlessness. Their end is eternity in hell. For most the present is filled with emptiness searching for fulfillment and trying to get numb from the pain. Only a true relationship with the real Jesus Christ of Nazareth can bring fulfillment and healing.
This courageous school is teaching young people how to stand on truth and how to share that life giving truth in love to young people who are being targeted by organizations Mr Davis is supporting and advocating for. As Bible Believing Christians we must defend the children and speak up when our Christian institutions come under attack.
