Beatrice’s ex-husband lives just outside Naples and spent 12 harrowing hours in a safe room in his home as the rest of his house was destroyed by the hurricane. She describes the neighborhood she used to live in, trees torn out by the roots, roofs torn off,lakes where neighborhoods once were next to closed freeway off ramps.
