Joe Biden’s administration is pressuring countries across the world to promote the killing of unborn babies in “safe abortions.”

This summer, the Biden administration and pro-abortion European Union leaders have been pushing to include “access to safe abortion” in a United Nations General Assembly resolution, according to the Center for Family and Human Rights (C-Fam).

UN members have rejected similar pro-abortion language for decades, but, this year, objections are being ignored, C-Fam reports.

If the resolution passes, the UN General Assembly would take a stance to encourage countries across the world to legalize “access to safe abortion” and “ensure the promotion and protection of the human rights of all women and their sexual and reproductive health.”

The resolution does include a small concession that states “where such services are permitted by law,” but many still believe the new pro-abortion language would undermine a long-standing UN agreement. In 1994, the UN General Assembly agreed that the abortion issue should be decided by individual countries, that abortion should be avoided and that childbirth and support for families in need should be prioritized.

Debate on the pro-abortion resolution this summer has been outside the norm, according to C-Fam:

Insiders close to the negotiations told the Friday Fax that not a single paragraph of the entire resolution was agreed by consensus before the draft was tabled this week, departing from the long-standing diplomatic procedure followed in General Assembly negotiations. Fifteen countries tried to block the resolution from being tabled as a result, to no avail.

Delegates were even more confused by the fact that the European Union seemed to manipulate the negotiations. EU member states, who are among the principal backers of the resolution, were aggressively negotiating. This is not normal protocol in General Assembly negotiations. In the ordinary course of things, the main sponsors of a resolution do not negotiate the resolution.

In the U.S. and abroad, the Biden administration has been working aggressively to expand the killing of unborn babies in abortions.

No longer are abortions viewed as something that should be rare or avoided. Now, pro-abortion politicians celebrate the life-destroying practice, describing it as “health care” and a “human right” when it really is the violent and unnecessary destruction of human lives.

Biden is the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history. He has been filling his administration with radical abortion activists, including lawyers who want to send pro-lifers to jail for exposing Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body parts trade.

He also restored taxpayer funding to United Nations agencies and other international groups that promote killing unborn babies in abortions.

In 2021, Biden removed the United States from the Geneva Consensus, a historic international pro-life declaration that criticizes the United Nations for supporting the killing of unborn babies in abortions across the world. Signed by 34 countries, the document urges countries to provide human rights and health care to all human beings, born and unborn, and calls for “better health for women, the preservation of human life and the strengthening of family as the foundational unit of society.”
